The Seventeenth Day of Christmas, the Seventeenth Day of Craft

Seasons Greetings everyone. In recent years I have leaned towards edible gifting  for Christmas gifts. Definition of a  Home chef foodie? Those preferring to go shopping (with a critical eye) for fresh, tasty ingredients, for something a little different to cook and entertain at home.    Give them the gift of food.

Mason Jar stamp by Inkadinkado, kraft cardstock, recycle Christmas tree branches and brown paper.

Slaving over a hot oven grill is worth every minute for these fresh roasted seeds; sunflower, pumpkin, white sesame, fennel and cumin.  The dukkah has a blend of roasted black peppercorns, almonds, hazelnuts, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, salt … Both the seed mix and the dukkah blend taste delicious over roasted vegetables or any combination of salad. Warning : do not leave the toasting process unattended, they can burn in a second!

There is usually small glass jars to be recycled, that is what I have used here. If you do not have any, the Opportunity shops usually have plenty. Embellish the top of the lid or front of the jar, it can be as glitzy as you like. What is your gift recipients style? Remember it’s not about you, it about the person receiving your gift.
